1.12.3 Equipment size
All items of equipment are rated with a size rating. This shows how the
character can carry them:
- S means Small. Small items are small enough to be concealed under or
in a character's clothing. These items are usually less than about 30
cm (12 inches) in length. Examples of small
items include coins, knives, etc. Small items can be concealed, worn at
a character's waist or held in his/her hands. Small items are too small
to be conveniently carried on a character's back unless they are stowed
in a suitable backpack or bag.
- M means Medium. Medium items are too large to be concealed, but may
be worn or carried in a character's hands, at his/her waist or on
his/her back. Medium items are usually less than about 150
cm (5 feet) in length. Examples of medium
items include swords, bows, backpack, etc.
- L means Large. Large items are too large to be concealed, or carried
at a character's waist or on his/her back, but may be carried in a
character's hands or lifted. Examples of large items include polearms,
most livestock, furniture, etc.
- W means Worn. Worn items are designed as clothing or armour, and are
usually worn on a character's body. Examples of worn items include
helmets, armour, clothes, belts, medallions, etc. All worn items will
also have a separate size rating (i.e. S, M or L) for when they are not
being worn.
All items of equipment are also rated with a weight.
This determines how encumbering these items are
for a character to carry.
