2.14.3 Dancing

When a character attempts to dance to a piece of music, he/she should make a dice roll using his/her Athletics (including relevant dancing specialisms) + CO. The character gets a +2 bonus on the dice roll if he/she already knows the piece of music, and a further +3 bonus if he/she has rehearsed the dance beforehand.

The dice roll result shows how well co-ordinated the character's movements during the dance, how responsive he/she is to the flow and rhythm of the dance music, and how aesthetically pleasing to an observer his/her dancing is, as follows:

Dice roll result Meaning
3 or lower Abysmal performance - character stumbles or falls or otherwise embarasses him/herself
3 1/2 - 6 Poor performance - character makes it through the dance but makes quite a few mistakes or is out of time
6 1/2 - 10 Competent performance - character dances in time with no mistakes
10 1/2 - 15 Good performance - character dances with professional quality
15 1/2 or more Excellent performance - character dances in inspired fashion and enthralls the audience
