3.2.2.4 Leg Sweep [A/F]

This maneuver enables the character to crouch down and attempt to sweep the target's legs out from under him/her, tripping him/her up and causing him/her to become prone.

This maneuver is carried out from an adjacent hex, like a Stand and Attack maneuver.

The character carrying out the Leg Sweep maneuver may optionally turn 60 degrees at the start of the maneuver.

Once any reactions to the attack have been declared, dice rolls are made to determine whether the attack hits the target.

The "weapon" attack modifier for a Leg Sweep is +0. In addition, (because the Leg Sweep attack dice roll is a dice roll involving Martial Arts skill and the CO characteristic), the modifier to CO for encumbrance is doubled. Finally, a Leg Sweep attack is aimed at the Legs, so there is a -2 penalty on the attack dice roll.

If the character successfully delivers a Leg Sweep, he/she makes a damage dice roll to determine how much damage the target takes. The "weapon" damage rating for a Martial Kick is 4 and the damage type is Blunt. The damage is done to the target's leg. In addition, a successful Leg Sweep automatically trips up the target and renders him/her prone.

As a follow-on: A Leg Sweep may be executed as a follow-on after a successful Martial Kick or Drop Dodge maneuver.

Following up from a Leg Sweep: If the character is successful with the Leg Sweep, he/she may follow up with a Martial Kick maneuver (kicking the now prone target).

Action point cost: A Leg Sweep action or follow-on uses two action points.

A mounted character cannot carry out a Leg Sweep action/follow-on.
