Governing characteristics: ST, CO

Represents: The skill of making armour, forging weapons, and making other items out of metal (e.g. to shoe horses).

Broad specialisms:

Armoury (making armour and helmets)
Blacksmith (making common items, such as horseshoes and nails, axes, hammers, etc.)
Bow-making (making bows, forging arrow heads and spear heads, making suitable shafts and fletching)
Swordsmithery (forging and repair of swords and knives)
Jeweler (cutting stones and setting them in precious metals)
A particular metal in which the smith works (e.g. bronze, steel)

Narrow specialisms:

Any particular type of armour (e.g. mail), item (e.g. horseshoes), weapon (e.g. longbow, long sword, arrow), precious stone (e.g. diamond)
Recognising metals and precious stones
Judging the quality of jewelry and precious stones
Judging the quality of armour
Judging the quality of weapons
